JOB OVERVIEW:

 

Blink Fitness is in need of a versatile Cloud infrastructure Engineer (12 month contract). We are investing in a flexible, best in class new technology platform where infrastructure and devops plays a key role.  This position is responsible for the deployment and maintenance of a cloud-based business intelligence SaaS solution.

 

The successful candidate must have a B.Sc. in Computer Science (or equivalent), plus a minimum of 2 years’ experience in developing, deploying and maintaining large Amazon AWS based SaaS solutions. Deep understanding of serverless infrastructure are also required to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Deploying, automating, maintaining and managing serverless AWS cloud based production system, to ensure the availability, performance, scalability and security of productions systems.
  • Managing and improving CI/CD Pipeline based on AWS services (CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, CodeStar).
  • Build, release and configuration management of production systems.
  • Pre-production Acceptance, Unit Testing and UI QA Automation framework integration to help assure the quality of our products / services.
  • System troubleshooting and problem solving across platform and application domains.
  • Suggesting architecture improvements, recommending process improvements.
  • Review and establish processes and procedures for both internal teams and vendors.
  • Work with various stakeholders to define and prioritize project objectives, critical success factors, and risks, and incorporate these factors into each project plan.
  • Track and escalate risks and issues as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • AWS: 2+ years’ experience with using a broad range of AWS technologies (e.g. Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, EC2, SQS, Route 53, StepFunctions, RDS, ELB, S3, VPC, Glacier, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, etc) to develop and maintain an Amazon AWS based cloud solution, with an emphasis on best practice cloud security.
  • DevOps: Solid experience as a DevOps Engineer in a 24x7 uptime Amazon AWS environment, including automation experience with configuration management tools.
  • Operating Systems: Windows and Linux system administration.
  • Logs & Monitoring Tools: Experience with system logging & monitoring tools (e.g. Kibana, ElasticSearch, CloudWatch, X-Ray, CloudTrail, etc).
  • Problem Solving: Ability to analyze and resolve complex infrastructure resource and application deployment issues.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational skills; will require tracking of outstanding issues and multiple projects
  • OO Programming Skills: Strong OO Programming skills (Node.js, Python).
  • DB Skills: Basic DB administration experience of SQL & NoSQL Databases
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience with Agile software development, project management methodologies.
  • Version Control: Experience administrating version control systems such as git.
  • Networking: Understanding network topologies and common network protocols and services (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, SMTP)
