JOB OVERVIEW:

Blink is looking for a highly motivated and passionate self-starter to join us as Senior Counsel. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Finance, this individual will lead Blink’s internal legal function as well as the management of external legal relationships, with a significant emphasis on commercial law. As Blink’s first in house legal hire, this role will play a critical role in shaping the company’s legal function and partnering with various areas of the business to continue driving Blink’s significant growth and success. In addition to a strong legal background and technical skill set, the incumbent will be expected to build strong cross functional relationships within a fast-paced, results oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Take the lead in providing legal support to all functions within the organization, including Procurement, Marketing, Operations, HR, IT and Finance
  • Manage the review, structuring and negotiation of various vendor agreements related to the procurement of goods, services and various partnerships
  • Lead the management of various corporate legal matters, including Blink’s trademark and IP portfolio, entity filings/ registrations and corporate resolutions
  • Partner with external counsel to manage Blink franchising legal requirements including franchisee agreements, regulatory filings and general franchise business matters
  • Lead the process for updating member agreements and HR policies to support the company’s expansion within new markets
  • Partner with HR to on all employment-related compliance and legal matters
  • Manage relationships and the coordination of support for various external legal relationships to support general corporate, litigation, HR compliance, franchise and commercial legal matters

Qualifications

  • Excellent academic credentials, including a JD from a respected law school
  • Must be a member of the New York bar in good standing
  • Minimum 6-8 years of legal experience covering a broad range of commercial, corporate and/or transactional matters
  • Minimum of 2 years of in house legal experience
  • Experience with franchising or securities law a plus but not required
  • Dynamic communication and interpersonal skills
  • Successful experience in a fast paced and dynamic organization
  • Strong business instincts and acumen
